Breno Zilber

I am married with two kids, both attending high school. My wife works with special education for the Surrey School District. We have been living in South Surrey for more than 11 years, always at Rosemary Heights neighbourhood. Since my young age I dreamed of becoming a doctor. Life drove me to different pathways, but the interest and the curiosity on the medical field has always been around. I came across acupuncture more than 30 years ago, first as a patient while experiencing some health concerns, and then, years later, with the opportunity to study and become a registered acupuncturist here in Canada. Through this journey, I learned to admire and respect this ancient practice even more. I consider myself a people person. During my career, I occupied positions where I had to manage multidisciplinary teams, deliver training programs, develop and implement organizational structures, negotiate and so on, always with people, for people. I reached a point in my life that I still wanted to have interactions with people but in a totally different way. More than work with people, my interest became more focused in how to help them find balance and improve their life quality. The process of healing might be long and sometimes extremely painful, but gives you an unique opportunity to really establish a deep and meaningful connection with the other person and that for me is very worthwhile. Acupuncture is giving me the honour and gift of being able to help people every single day.
